EYFS
Our Early years consists of the following classes:
Magical Mauritius is our 2+ class led by Mrs. Begum.
Nursery is called Wonderous Wales with teacher Mrs. Vasquez.
Our reception class is Amazing Antarctica and our teacher is called Miss Smith.
Our 2+ and nursery routine
Magical Mauritius has 2 sessions morning 8.40am-11.40am and afternoon 12.30pm-3.30pm.
-
Snack time is usually mid session where we try a variety of different foods. We also have milk and fruit and we talk about how these healthy things are good for our bodies.
-
A range of exciting and engaging activities to support their gross and fine motor skills will be set up for the children to complete if they wish.
-
Near the end of the session the children help to Tidy up, we then come to the carpet for a shared story and singing time.
2+ Magical Mauritius
We have 16 places in our 2 year old + provision. When your child starts in Magical Mauritius they will be assigned a key person who will observe them as they play, explore and learn. All children learn in a range of ways, we will plan though their interests and skills that all children need to develop.
Nursery – Amazing Antarctica

Class Dojo
Please sign up to Class Dojo as this is a great way to communicate with the class teacher.
We will put lots of pictures and videos on of what the children are doing in school. This is also where you can share pictures of things are you doing at home.
Home learning
To support your child with the phonics knowledge we will be sending home reading books. Please ensure you are reading with them every day at home and return their reading books every Friday to be changed in school.
Read Write Inc can be used to support home learning
School milk
Our school provides milk to all students in EYFS, if you do not wish your child to receive milk for drinking during the school day, please contact the school office.
Uniform
Polite reminders:
-
Please ensure that you write your child’s name clearly in each of their belongings. On the first day of Nursery there were lots of brand new jumpers with no names in which makes it extremely difficult to return to the correct owner.
-
Please ensure your child bring a coat to school every day. In Nursery we have continuous access to outdoor provision which remains open whatever the weather.
-
Please remember that shoes must be black school shoes and not trainers. Trousers must also be school trousers and not jogging style bottoms.
PE
The children in Nursery will be going to the hall for a PE session each week. During this time the children will take off their shoes and socks and will be encouraged to do this with more independence. We would appreciate if you help your child to practice doing this at home.
Coats
Please will you ensure that your child’s coat has their name in it. Please encourage and support your child to put on their own coat independently. Thank you!
Bookbags
Please bring your child’s bookbag to school every day. This week the children have started bringing home library books which will be changed regularly. These books are for you to share with your child. Children also make pictures and models for family members at home which will also be placed inside bookbags at the end of each school day.
